Our Role
The PPS athletic budget does not fully cover the costs of running a competitive volleyball program.
Additional income from volleyball program activities (door entry fees, team registration fees, concessions; summer youth and high school training camps, and fan gear sales) help provide additional funding towards the annual costs.
The remaining amount needed must be fundraised through participating players’ families, supporters plus potential sponsors.

Funding Structure
The Booster Club’s funding comes from a variety of sources, including donations, fundraising events, and sponsorships. Each source plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our volleyball programs.

Sources of Funding
Our primary sources of funding include individual donations, business sponsorships, and community fundraising events. These funds are vital for covering expenses. The booster program works to fill district funding shortfalls plus important program needs such as: uniforms more often than the district funding only every fourth year, volleyball equipment, away tournaments, additional training opportunities, and team events such as senior night.
$200 PIL Participation Fee
The cost for all Portland Interscholastic League (PIL) sponsored sports are per sport, per student, and ZERO of the $200 goes directly to the LHS Volleyball Program. This fee covers PIL provided services such as game/tournament costs (busses, referees, custodial, campus security), and practicum referees. This fee is due upon making a team and a Free/Reduced option of $35 is available.
$0 LHSGVB Team Fee
There is currently no team cost for individual athletes, instead all are expected to fully participate in achieving the program’s fundraising goal. The funds raised contribute to the overall program success, build community support and can even help increase attendance at games. Any family electing not to participate in fundraising activities may directly contribute a “buy out” option at the beginning of the season.
